Alexander Khretinin has been promoted to Partner within the Dispute Resolution Practice and will head the firm’s Sanctions Practice. Alexander has been representing clients for over 15 years in Russian and foreign corporate disputes, as well as in high‑profile international court and arbitration proceedings. His team successfully defended a client in the first case in Russia concerning the grant of an anti‑suit injunction to restrain foreign arbitration proceedings related to sanctions. Before joining Orion in 2022, Alexander was a managing associate at the international law firm Linklaters and also worked in the London and Moscow offices of Herbert Smith Freehills.
Evgeny Letunovsky has been promoted to Counsel within the Dispute Resolution Practice. Evgeny is an advocate with 15 years’ experience representing businesses in international commercial arbitration, cross‑border disputes and sanctions‑related matters. He has a strong track record in high‑profile international disputes; for example, the team he led recently secured the dismissal of a USD 16 billion claim in the High Court in London (Magomedov & Ors v TPG Group Holdings (SBS)). Evgeny was one of the first lawyers in Russia to obtain a licence to unfreeze assets held with Euroclear. Before joining Orion, Evgeny practiced at the international law firms Linklaters, White & Case and Noerr.
Arina Fot has been promoted to Counsel within the Dispute Resolution Practice. Arina is known for her ability to achieve settlements of complex cross‑border disputes by combining asset freezes over opponents’ property with carefully crafted litigation strategies. She was part of an international legal team that obtained the first ever interim measures in the history of the European Union suspending the application of sanctions. Before joining Orion in 2022, Arina worked at the international law firms Linklaters and Herbert Smith Freehills.
Nikolay Kosminskiy has been promoted to Counsel within the Finance Practice. Nikolay specialises in syndicated lending and restructurings and is known as a talented negotiator capable of positively influencing the dynamics of deal negotiations. The team under his leadership has advised on several large‑scale project finance transactions in the Russian Far East and has also acted for lenders in one of the largest restructuring deals in Central Asia. Before joining Orion in 2022, Nikolay worked at the international law firms Clifford Chance and CMS.
