June 29, 2024
Trainee Georgy Galaktionov spoke at the 14th International Youth Legal Forum, which was held on 29 June 2024 in St. Petersburg as part of the 12th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

Orion Trainee Georgy Galaktionov, winner of the Orion scholarship in the 1st Legal Career Forum at Kutafin Moscow State Law University, spoke during the session “How to get to a top law firm in 2024: New prerequisites and opportunities”. He talked about what a beginning lawyer is looking for when choosing a firm.

“The extent to which a firm could offer a flexible work schedule was important to me, because I wanted to be able to work and study at the same time. I primarily looked at rankings and the brand when selecting a firm. Many firms offer a long-range development programme, which was particularly important to me. I was looking for a seamless path from student to university graduate to high-calibre professional.  For example, I wanted to know if the firms have mentoring programmes”, Georgy explains.

The International Youth Legal Forum is the largest platform for young lawyers to interact with representatives of government agencies and the scientific and business communities. This year, participants discussed a wide range of issues, including the legal regulation of artificial intelligence, the law of BRICS+ countries, the development of legal education and more.
