On 2 April 2026, Orion hosted a business breakfast at its office dedicated to asset protection in Russia and abroad. The event launched a series of meetings addressing current issues of preserving and returning assets in the context of sanctions pressure.
During the breakfast, Vladimir Melnikov reviewed several cases of successfully returning blocked assets of sanctioned persons to Russia. Aleksandra Mashkina outlined the strengths and weaknesses of trust structures in various jurisdictions as a tool for asset protection. Evgeny Letunovsky spoke about Russian and foreign anti-suit injunctions and highlighted key points to be taken into account when applying them.
The breakfast was attended by more than 40 guests, and the topics discussed generated considerable interest. Participants actively asked questions and continued informal discussions with the experts after the presentations.
The first business breakfast in this series at Orion’s office was led by Partner Vladimir Melnikov, Counsel Evgeny Letunovsky and Associate Aleksandra Mashkina. Our experts invited guests to submit their most pressing and topical questions on asset preservation and recovery so that we can address them at the upcoming business breakfasts in this series.
