On March 20, 2025, Yusup Magomedov, an Associate of Orion's Dispute Resolution team, participated as a guest expert in a meeting of the Civil Procedure Club organized by the Private Law Department of the National Research University Higher School of Economics.
Yusup delivered a presentation on “Peculiarities of Application of Article 248.1 CPC of the Russian Federation in Court Practice”, during which he highlighted topical issues of exclusive jurisdiction of Russian courts in the context of sanctions, as well as anti-suit injunctions and parallel litigation in different jurisdictions.
The expert also invited the participants to discuss the practical consequences of conflicting awards using a simulated case study. Special emphasis was placed on factoring in the exequatur of future awards when developing procedural strategies.
