Alexander is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution Practice of Orion, with over 15 years of experience in representing clients in commercial disputes in Russian and international courts, commercial and investment arbitration processes. Alexander specializes in debt recovery, cross-border bankruptcy, sanction law and regulations compliance, corporate securities and contractual disputes, and indemnity claims.

Prior to joining Orion, Alexander worked in Russian and international law firms, major Russian banks and investment companies.

Alexander’s work experience includes representing:

a leading investment company on debt recovery from a large petrochemical complex in the ICAC under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Russian courts of law for claims in the amount of around RUB 1.5 billion;

a large shipping company on a supplier's refusal to fulfill its obligations with reference to imposed sanctions in arbitration under SIAC proceedings for claims in excess of USD 1 billion;

a major iron and steel corporation on recovery of advance payments under EPC contracts with arbitration clauses under HKIAC and ICC regulations in the amount of debt over USD 30 million;

a major agricultural producer in a dispute on the recovery of a promissory note indebtedness not reflected in the company's financial statements, with multiple cases pending in Russian state courts in the amount of debt over RUB 600 million;

a major Russian bank in a dispute on recovery of debts from an agricultural company in the Balkans in state courts in Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, England and the LCIA in the amount of debt of around EUR 700 million;

a large Russian bank in a corporate dispute in Russian state courts over the violation of the preemptive equities purchase right of the registrar acting as the registry holder of the bank;

a large Russian bank in a dispute with an international bank in the state courts of Azerbaijan and England over the involuntary restructuring of debt governed by English law in the amount of EUR 20 million; and

a major Russian bank in a dispute with a developer of security software for ATMs in US courts, and The Intellectual Property Rights Court in Russia.

Alexander graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).
