Dmitry specializes in banking financing in Russia. He advises lenders and borrowers on secured and unsecured bilateral and syndicated lending, as well as on project financing and corporate aspects of financial transactions.
Prior to joining Orion, he worked in the banking and finance practice of the Moscow office of Herbert Smith Freehills, as well as in the legal department of a large investment company in Moscow.
Dmitry's work experience includes representing:
a syndicate of Russian banks on syndicated project financing for the development of Russia's largest Udokan copper deposit within the framework of the Project Financing Factory;
Gazprombank in connection with the syndicated loan provided to Port Vera, the operator of a sea coal port in the Far East;
a syndicate of major Russian banks in connection with the provision of a loan to a Russian machine-building group
Raven Russia in connection with financing provided by Sberbank, VTB and Raiffeisenbank for the construction of logistics parks in Russia and the subsequent refinancing of such loans;
Sberbank in connection with (1) the provision of a secured loan for the acquisition of a number of shopping centres in Moscow and St. Petersburg by FORTGROUP from Immofinanz, Austria and (2) refinancing existing loans provided to several real estate management companies by Nordea Bank, Raiffeisenbank and Sberbank;
Sberbank in connection with a secured loan to a subsidiary of one of the largest energy traders, including a complex collateral structure due to the borrower's obligations under shareholder agreements entered into in relation to the management of a company operating a petroleum product loading terminal in a seaport; and
Sberbank Investments on providing secured financing in the amount of USD 100 million to Gett (formerly known as GetTaxi) for the expansion of its business in the Russian, UK, New York, Israeli and European markets.
Dmitry graduated with honors from the Russian Academy of Justice, and received a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of London (UK).
