Nikolai has 19 years of experience in banking transactions and specializes in syndicated and pre-export financing, as well as in debt restructuring. Among his clients are the largest Russian and international banks and financial institutions.
Until 2022, Nikolai headed the banking practice of the Moscow office of Linklaters.
Nikolai's work experience includes advising:
a syndicate of Russian banks, including VEB.RF, as part of financing the construction of a plant for the production of railway wheels in one of the special economic zones of the Russian Federation within the framework of the Project Finance Factory;
Gazprombank, VEB.RF and Sberbank in relation to the syndicated project financing for the development of the Udokanskoye deposit within the framework of the Project Finance Factory;
Sberbank in relation to a US$3,9 billion syndicated loan provided to Uralchem under Russian law;
VTB in relation to the provision of the advance pre-export financing to a Russian borrower in the amount of more than US$2 billion;
Credit Bank of Moscow and lenders in relation to the syndicated financing arranged for a subsidiary of Trafigura, an international trading company, for the purpose of acquiring an interest in Vostok Oil, a flagship oil project in the Arctic, from Oil Company Rosneft;
Sberbank in relation to the restructuring of debts of the Agrokor Group in the amount of 6 billion euros; and
Russian and international creditors in relation to the restructuring of debts of large Russian, Ukrainian and Kazakh companies (Mechel, DTEK, Svyaznoy, Eurasian Resources Group).
Nikolai graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law of Moscow State University in 2006.
