Spartak is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution Practice of Orion. He represents clients in complex commercial disputes, including disputes related to the intellectual property protection.
Prior to joining Orion, Spartak worked as an Associate at a law firm focusing on advising and representing IT companies on legal matters. He teaches intellectual property protection in several master's programs.
Spartak’s work experience includes representing:
an entertainment company in a dispute with a well-known international content copyright holder, arising from copyright infringement related to the use of cartoon characters in shows and marketing events;
a leading turbine manufacturer with regard to the protection of exclusive rights in drawings in connection with planned trade secret litigation;
a leading telecommunications company in a dispute over supply agreements, arising from the counterparty's refusal to fulfill its obligations as a result of sanctions;
a major regional producer of canned goods, in arbitration courts, the Chamber for Patent Disputes, and the Federal Antimonopoly Service, in a complex dispute regarding the protection of the “legacy of Soviet manufacturing” trademark;
a major oil refining company regarding the optimization of trademark portfolio management and the preparation of legal arguments for the Chamber for Patent Disputes;
a video game studio about a lawsuit filed by a user for the reimbursement of the value of virtual assets after the user’s account was suspended for breaching the game’s rules of conduct; and
an independent video game developer in the pre-trial settlement of a dispute with an investor about copying mobile game designs, bad faith trademark registration in multiple jurisdictions, and goodwill protection.
Spartak received his Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree from the Faculty of Law of St. Petersburg State University. He also graduated from Stockholm University with a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property Law.
