Vadim has over 15 years of experience advising clients on structured and asset finance in the CIS, Middle East, Africa, Europe and the USA. Vadim also specialises in complex structured transactions in the transport sector, including financing, refinancing, leasing, chartering, portfolio sales of large assets (vessels, aircraft and rolling stock), restructurings, as well as Russian taxation, customs legislation and regulatory matters in the transport sector.
Prior to joining Orion, Vadim worked at leading Russian and international law firms, was Counsel and Co-head of Asset Finance Practice at Clifford Chance's Moscow office and Partner-Advocate at Better Chance.
Vadim is individually ranked by Pravo-300 and Kommersant among the top lawyers in categories such as Financial/Banking Law, Sanctions Shipping and Transport.

Vadim’s work experience includes advising:
a number of investors in an additional issue of Segezha Group shares in the total amount of RUB 113 billion;
S7 Airlines on the settlement of relations with a group of foreign lessors, including AerCap Ireland Limited, SMBC Aviation Capital Limited and Air Lease Corporation, for 45 medium-haul aircraft and 4 aircraft engines;
Aurora Airlines on an insurance settlement with a group of foreign lessors on medium-haul aircraft;
a client on the refinancing of more than 25 dry bulk carriers structured through the sale and purchase of marine vessels with their subsequent instalment sale for an international logistics company;
VTB on a complex structured financing for the acquisition of one of the largest railway train operators;
a client on financing the acquisition, purchase and charter of 12 dry bulk carriers;
a Middle East logistics company on the acquisition, subsequent chartering of two (2) marine vessels and the provision of security for the transaction;
GTLK on the acquisition of the entire leasing business of VEB Leasing (more than 150 aircraft and more than 20 helicopters);
a Russian airline in relation to claims made by foreign liquidators for the return of six (6) Boeing 737-800 aircraft, including advising on a possible settlement and redemption of the aircraft; and
a client on providing financing to a Kazakh company secured by mortgages over two aircraft.
