Evgeny is an experienced lawyer specializing in resolving Russian and international disputes. His expertise spans commercial arbitration, cross-border disputes, bankruptcy, overseas asset protection and sanctions compliance, including interactions with foreign regulators and foreign courts to release assets frozen as a result of sanctions. Evgeny represents clients in major arbitration proceedings under the LCIA, SCC and ICAC rules. Among Evgeny’s clients are sovereign states, leading banks, mining and processing companies, IT companies, car manufacturers, transport companies and family offices of the largest Russian financial corporations. Prior to joining Orion Partners, Evgeny worked in the dispute resolution practices of Linklaters, White & Case and Noerr. He has been distinguished by the The Best Lawyers in Russia rating since 2019 in the categories of international arbitration, state courts and real estate.
Evgeny's work experience includes representing:
wealthy clients of the two largest banks in Russia, as well as an international investment company in the process of unblocking access to securities worth hundreds of millions of euros;
the largest IT company in a confidential post-M&A arbitration in LCIA regarding the sale of a business;
a Russian aircraft operator in a dispute with a foreign aircraft manufacturer in connection with the latter’s refusal to supply aircraft due to sanctions imposed against Russia;
a Russian bank in a multi-jurisdictional dispute over losses caused by conspiracy in excess of US$1 billion;
a contractor in SCC confidential arbitration against a Central Asian state and a national concern in connection with a contract worth over US$1 billion; and
a bank in insolvency cases against a large hotel operator and in three separate disputes in the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, in which the Supreme Court ruled in favour of the client.
Evgeny graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law of Moscow State University in 2011, and studied EU law at the University of Regensburg (Germany) in 2008.
