Ivan is an Associate in the Dispute resolution practice at Orion. Ivan specializes in resolving international disputes within the framework of international commercial arbitration, as well as in supporting legal proceedings in Russian and foreign state courts.
Prior to joining the Orion team, Ivan Travkin held the position of a Junior Associate at BGP Litigation.
Ivan’s work experience includes representing:
a major technology corporation in arbitration proceedings under the SIAC rules in the case pertaining to the invalidation of a transaction for the sale and purchase of a controlling stake;
shareholders of a Hong Kong company in connection with a violation of the shareholders’ agreement referred to the ICAC;
a Hungarian company in arbitration proceedings under the rules of the American Arbitration Association in the case pertaining to the enforcement of a corporate agreement;
a major Russian company in a construction dispute with a German equipment manufacturer referred to the ICC;
a client in an inheritance dispute considered in a number of jurisdictions, including Russia, France, Canada and the UK;
a private client regarding the preparation of a Request for Access and Deletion of Information to be filed with Interpol in connection with the client’s potential placement on the international wanted list; and
a Russian client challenging extradition from Italy to France.
Ivan received his Bachelor’s degree from the International Law Faculty of Moscow State University of International Relations in 2021, and is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Private International Law and Resolution of International Commercial Disputes.
During the period from 2019 to 2020, Ivan also completed an internship at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ottawa (Canada).
