Vera is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution practice of Orion. She has a significant experience of representing both Russian and foreign companies from various business industries in complex disputes in Russian state courts and in international commercial arbitration. Vera’s experience also includes advising and representing the clients in the insolvency proceedings, including claw back actions and disputes on secondary liability of the debtor’s controlling persons.
Prior to joining Orion, Vera worked in the dispute resolution practices of ALRUD Law Firm and Melling, Voitishkin & Partners (ex. Baker McKenzie).
Vera is a member of the International Bar Association, the RAA working group "Monitoring of Russian Case Law" and Russian Women in Arbitration (RWA).
Vera’s work experience includes advising and representing:
one of the world’s largest manufacturers of greenhouse equipment as a plaintiff in an ICAC at the RF CCI arbitration on recovery of indebtedness for the supplied equipment and pre-commissioning;
subsidiaries of a famous multinational brewery in a number of disputes on challenging the transfer of trademark rights;
a multinational telecommunications equipment company in a dispute on recovery of penalty related to export bans;
an international media corporation in an arbitration on the recovery of indebtedness from a Russian publishing house arising from receiving financing for publishing activities;
a well-known businessman on Russian law issues in a dispute on compensation of harm initiated by a big Russian oil company in the High Court of Justice in England; and
a major vehicles manufacturer in interrelated bankruptcy cases of its Russian subsidiaries, including disputes on secondary liability of the controlling persons and on challenging transactions (claw back actions).
Vera received her Bachelor's Degree with Honors from the Faculty of Law of Lomonosov Moscow State University in 2018 and her Master of Laws degree from Higher School of Economics (Moscow) in 2020.
