Alexander is an Associate at the Corporate law practice of Orion.

He specializes in cross-border and Russian M&A transactions, private equity transactions, joint ventures and investment partnerships, and also focuses on general corporate governance issues. Alexander advises both private investors and large Russian and international companies operating in mining, finance and TMT.

Prior to joining Orion, Alexander worked for the Russian law firm Alrud and for the international law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner.

Work experience includes advising:

a major Russian tobacco distributor on the preparation and negotiation of a new shareholders' agreement with foreign shareholders in relation to the company of the Russian holding group in connection with the client's inclusion in the list of economically significant organisations and the transfer of corporate governance from the Dutch holding company to Russia;

a major Russian bank on the acquisition of a Russian IT holding company;

Ilon LLC, the company managing the DDX fitness club chain, and its members on a transaction involving the entry of an institutional investor into its membership;

a client on the acquisition of a majority stake in a company engaged in the development of a lithium deposit in the Republic of Mali, with the possibility of consolidating a 100% stake;

O’Key Group S.A., one of the largest Russian grocery store chains, on its redomiciliation from Luxembourg to Russia;

the beneficial owners of an online streaming service provider on negotiations with a buyer and an escrow agent from Luxembourg in connection with sanctions imposed on the buyer as part of a transaction governed by English and Russian law;

the largest Russian sovereign wealth fund as part of the structuring and creation of a Fund of Funds, an investment partnership agreement, with the aim of making collective public and private investments in promising technology industries in Russia;

the largest Russian oil company on the establishment of a joint venture with a Russian O&G company to develop an offshore field; and

T1 Group in relation to the acquisition of a share in the authorized capital of ADS-Holding LLC, a developer of the Arenadata corporate platform for storing and processing big data.

Alexander graduated from the Faculty of Law of Moscow State University, and he received a Master of Laws degree with honours.
